Rebuilding God's People, and the story of Nehemiah

"...the joy of the people of Jerusalem could be heard far away" (Nehemiah 12:43).

Nehemiah - he's the guy who helped rebuild Jerusalem's walls, right?  So why have we called this series 'Rebuilding God's People'?

Because God loves people, not walls!  And through the rebuilding of the walls, God rebuilds his people.

At the beginning of the story of Nehemiah, the walls of Jerusalem are broken down, and frankly so are the people.  The broken walls are a constant reminder of their past failure and defeat.  By the time the walls are rebuilt, the people have rediscovered their wonderful God, their identity in Him, their faith, their strength, their unity, their holiness, and their purpose as a people of God!

This transformation didn't happen overnight, and has its own twists and turns.  Why not join us, as we explore the story of Nehemiah – and the rebuilding of God’s people - over the next 8 weeks?
